Multiple stabbing attacks, which murdered one Israeli and wounded several others, one car ramming attack, and a rocket launched from Gaza—all on one day. According to the IDF Twitter feed, the Israeli murdered was Ziv Mizrahi, an 18-year-old soldier, who was stabbed at a gas station. Among the day’s wounded were an 80-year-old.

Israel fought back, including neutralizing the terrorist who did the lethal stabbing, IDF spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner said on Twitter. The rocket attack didn’t go without response either, as Israeli aircraft struck a Hamas military post in Gaza, according to an IDF press release. The IDF statement noted that it was the 20th rocket launched at Israel by Gaza terrorists this year, although the number of rocket and mortar attacks has spiked in recent months.

According to the Israeli Security Agency website, 11 such projectiles were fired from Gaza in October and September alone—more than the entire rest of the year combined. That coincides with the increase in terror attacks on the ground, which have also surged over the last few months.

Lerner pointed out that, tragically, Israel’s fight against terror is not new. But he nonetheless offered hope, even after Monday’s lethal stabbing. Tweeted Lerner, “Israel is faced with a wave of terror based on incitement. We will persevere & grow stronger.”
